Sandy Hill Teacher Receives First “Emily’s Excellence in Education” Recognition

Ms. Briana Beulah, a teacher at Sandy Hill Elementary School, received the inaugural Emily’s Excellence in Education recognition this week, cheered on by her 3rd grade students..  The award, established by Emily’s Produce, will be presented each month to honor a member of Dorchester County Public Schools staff who regularly goes ‘above and beyond’.

“Ms. Beulah is exceptional at building positive relationships with her students,” said Sandy Hill Principal Debbie Gibson at the choice of recipient.  “This has been a tough school year for everyone, and Ms. Beulah has done an outstanding job of rising above for her kids.”

Kelly Jackson of Emily’s Produce presented Ms. Beulah with a flowering plant and a gift card for “lunch on Emily’s”.  She said, “"Emily's Produce recognizes the valuable role that educators, support staff, and stakeholders play in empowering the children in our community.  It is very humbling to witness the tireless and authentic efforts that the teachers in our community demonstrate every day!  Providing a small token of our appreciation is the least we can do to show how much we care about their devotion to children and to education.  We're very excited to present a monthly award and thank Dorchester County Public Schools for allowing us to play such a small role.”

Superintendent Dave Bromwell was also on hand to thank Ms. Beulah for her service to her students and to thank Emily’s Produce for their commitment in recognizing outstanding staff throughout Dorchester County Public Schools.
